Diane Abraham
Brathay 10in10 Athlete

My name is Diane Abraham and I’m from Southampton, Hampshire. Running has become a huge part of my life, not just as a sport but as a way to challenge myself, explore new places, and prove that with determination, almost anything is possible.
I decided to take on the Brathay 10in10 because I was looking for a running challenge that would truly mean something. I wanted a goal that would push me both physically and mentally, while also giving me the opportunity to make a real difference. Running for the Brathay Trust ticks all of those boxes. Completing ten marathons in ten consecutive days is an enormous challenge, but knowing that every mile can help improve the lives of young people gives me the motivation to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I’ve been fortunate to achieve some milestones in my running journey that I’m incredibly proud of. Earlier this year, I qualified for both the Boston and London Marathons through the Good for Age rules and achieved the incredible experience of running both in the same week in April 2026. It was a demanding but unforgettable achievement. Another milestone that means a great deal to me is that I’m now just four official marathons away from reaching my 200th marathon—a goal that once seemed impossible but is now within touching distance.
Supporting young people through the Brathay Trust is particularly important to me on a personal level. Having a son with learning disabilities has shown me just how limited opportunities can sometimes be for children and young adults, whether they have disabilities or not.
Every young person deserves the chance to build confidence, discover their potential, and experience adventure. Through running, I’ve discovered the freedom, resilience, and joy that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, and I want other young people to have those same opportunities.
By raising money for the Brathay Trust, I hope I can play a small part in helping more children and young people experience the adventures, personal growth, and life-changing opportunities that many of us can too easily take for granted. Knowing that my challenge can help create those experiences makes every mile worthwhile.
