Brathay 10in10 Athlete
My name is Maria, I’m a non-exec director and leadership coach based in the Peak District. I run and ride for fun and have previously completed the Isle of Arran Rat Race – 60 miles and the Arc of Attrition 50km.
In May 2027, I will be taking on an extraordinary challenge: running 10 marathons in 10 days around the beautiful Windermere as part of the Brathay 10in10. I am dedicating this effort to the Brathay Trust, a remarkable charity that supports young people who have faced difficult beginnings. They work tirelessly to help these young individuals build resilience.
I’m passionate about creating brighter futures for everyone, but in particular young people and for may reasons. Brathay is a charity I’m particularly passionate about so after joking I’d do this one day with Paul (Chair of the Board) I decided 2027 was the time….so here we go!! I’m very proud to be part of the TeamBrathay for this year and I’m excited to take on the challenge.
The journey will undoubtedly test my endurance and spirit, especially after several laps. But it is precisely this resilience that Brathay Trust fosters in those they help every day.
