Brathay 10in10 Athlete
I’m Olly Holroyd, I’m 24 and I’m from Lancaster. Yet again, I am saying I cannot wait to take on this challenge! Third time lucky – this time after sadly retiring last year due a stress fracture on my fibula.
Brathay has such a special home in my heart, as the things the charity does for children and young people is magical. Staying at Brathay Hall during the 10in10, you really get to see the impact for young people and it’s so amazing to see how far the donations really go.
Brathay Trust had a huge impact on me while I was there as part of the University of Cumbria sports therapy team supporting the 2023 Brathay 10in10. During the 10 days I became close to the runners and saw how mentally challenging, but also rewarding, the 10in10 was – this provided the motivation to give it a go myself!
Learning about the positive impact Brathay has on many young lives will really drive me forward in completing this fearful challenge!
After pulling out last year I haven’t stopped thinking about coming back! I have a lot planned for after the 10in10 which is exciting – but I’m not spoiling any news just yet….so when the times right, keep an eye on my social media!
