Brathay 10in10 Athlete
I’m Zach Hatton and I am 22. I’m from Lancaster and currently live in Carlisle – whilst studying for a master’s degree, as well as fulfilling the role of Head Sports Therapist at Lancaster City FC. I have always taken part in sports, mostly football, but have always had an interest in running having competed in fell races, athletics and cross country.
A running highlight I am particularly proud of was when I ran the Breezy in Brighhouse Special Solstice Marathon, the first time the event had taken place, which I won!
My motivation for taking on the Brathay 10in10 stems from having supported the 2025 team as a student therapist with University of Cumbria. Watching the runners complete such a physically and mentally challenging task has inspired me to give it a go myself.
Raising money to help young people matters to me, as when I was young I had the opportunity to participate in many outdoor activities which I believe is vital in young people’s growth and development. Brathay Trust provides these opportunities for young people.
The chance to be a part of the process is too great to pass up on.
