Entries will close on the Wednesday before the event, or when entries reach the maximum number of 1000, whichever comes first.
You will receive email confirmation of your entry. Please also check this website regularly for further information.
You will need to collect your race number and timing chip at registration. Registration will be open on the morning of the event from 10.00 until 11.45am.
As stated in our Terms and Conditions and as per UKAA rules and regulations, the right to participate in the event is highly individual and as such entries and race numbers are non-transferable.
If participants wish to cancel their entry they need to contact the Brathay Running team. We are unable to offer refunds or deferrals in case of cancellation.
You will need to collect your race number and timing chip on the morning of the event from registration. Registration will be in the event field and is open from 10.00am – 11.45am. Please arrive in plenty of time to park, and collect your number from registration – we are expecting the event to be busy.
The race will start at 12.10pm.
Car parking is available in the Langdale valley close to the event centre. There are three car parks:
1. Event field: £5
2. National Trust Pay & Display car park: £6 upto 4hrs; £7 all day
3. Lake District National Park Pay & Display car park: £6 upto 4hrs; £8 all day.
There are no changing facilities available on the day.
There will be unsupervised bag storage in a tent in the event field at New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. The event organisers take no responsibility for bags left in the tent.

The time limit for completion of the course is 1hrs 30mins. Runners must pass through Elterwater before 45mins.
There will be a sweep vehicle at the back of the race. The sweep vehicle will pick any runners who retire from the event and return them to the event centre.
There will be a refreshment station just beyond Elterwater – 5.5k. There will be water in cups & mulled wine available. There will be litter bins positioned a short distance after the refreshment station for you to dispose of any water bottles and/or cups/wrappers. Please make use of these.
Yes – thank you! We rely on volunteers to ensure the day runs smoothly and there are various roles available.
UKA Rule 240: “Runners must not be accompanied by a personally owned or controlled dog in the race. NOTE: Entries may be accepted from runners with medical assistance dogs, subject to them being correctly registered and identifiable as such; and subject to approval by the Race Director.”
The wearing of headphones (in-ear or over), or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted. Runners can run with bone conducting headphones.
There are no shower facilities are available at the event centre.
Prizes will be awarded to just the first man and first woman. An award for best festive costume will be awarded after an online vote after the event. All runners who complete the Christmas Pudding 10k will receive a…. Christmas Pudding!
