Runners must be aged 18 or over on the day of the event.
Entries will close at 10:00am on Wednesday 18th October, or when entries reach the maximum number of 500, whichever comes first.
You will receive email confirmation of your entry. Please also check this website and our social media channels regularly for further information.
Final instructions will be emailed a couple of days before the event. You will need to collect your race number and timing chip when you register before the event. Registration will be open from 08:00 – 10:00am on the morning of the event.

We are unable to offer refunds or deferrals in case of cancellation but you may transfer your entry to another Brathay Challenges event in the same year. Please contact the Brathay Running team here.
Car parking is available in the Great Langdale valley close to the event centre. There are three car parks:
1. Event field: £5.
2. National Trust Pay & Display car park: £6 upto 4hrs; £7 all day.
3. Lake District National Park Pay & Display car park: £6 up nto 4hrs; £8 all day.
There are no changing facilities. There will be limited bag storage for those who arrive by public transport in a tent at the event centre.
The race will start at 10:30am.

The time limit for completion of the course is 6hrs 30mins.
Yes – the sweep vehicle will follow the marathon at 15 minute mile pace (3hrs 15mins total time per lap). There is no provision for picking up tired or injured runners except for in exceptional circumstances.
The refreshment stations are at approximately 3 mile intervals.
- Refreshment station 1 at 2.4 miles
- Refreshment station 2 at 5.5 miles
- Refreshment station 3 at 10 miles
Finish line All have bottled water and electrolyte drink in cups.

Unfortunately you can’t run with a dog.
The wearing of headphones (in-ear or over), or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted. Runners can run with bone conducting headphones.
No facilities are available at the event centre.
The awards ceremony will be at the event centre beginning at 2:00pm. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to age category winners. A full set of results will be available shortly after the race on the Brathay Challenges website and via post event newsletters and social media. All runners who complete the Langdale Half Marathon will receive a medal.
