Brathay 10in10 Athlete
Back for my 4th attempt to complete the 262 mile challenge....and the world has dramatically changed since my last visit to The Lakes.
Nearly all of our beloved endurance events have been cancelled due to Covid 19 and I spent some time being ill myself when I succumbed to the virus in November. I'm also a football referee but there haven't been many games on for me to officiate, so getting back to marathon fitness has been very difficult, but I have a renewed vigour and a determination to be ready for the Day 1 start line in May 2021.
Coronavirus has also had an adverse effect on Brathay's ability to stage the fundraising events that are vital in their efforts to deliver the service that Brathay Trust offers to disadvantaged children and young people. Nearly all of the Corporate Events were cancelled and now we need the 2021 Brathay 10in10 event to succeed like never before.
Sometimes we all need a 'hand-up' and I certainly did when I was in and out of trouble as a young offender many years ago. Brathay Trust has been involved in projects that are keeping young people away from all kinds of abuse and criminal activity. In conjunction with St Luke's Hospice, Brathay has also been involved with Bereavement Counselling for young people.
There are several unfinished long term undertakings and there is still much work to be done and Brathay Trust works 365 days a year on various projects around the country and you can assist by following the links to my justgiving page. Thank you.
