Brathay 10in10 Club

Upon crossing the finish line on their 10th and final marathon a 10in10 runner becomes a member of the Brathay 10in10 Club.

Jeff Prestridge

In 2012 Jeff Prestridge completed the 10in10 with a total time of 46 hours 43 minutes 38 seconds. Jeff raised £111,000 to support Brathay Trust's work. To date this is the most money raised by an individual Brathay 10in10 participant.

Foxy

In 2015 David (Foxy) Bayley completed his 6th 10in10 - that's 60 laps of England's largest lake (not counting training laps). This is the most completions of the 10in10. Foxy completed consecutive 10in10s from 2009 through to 2013. He then returned for another 10 laps of his favorite lake in 2015 to complete his 6th 10in10...so far!

In official Brathay 10in10 marathons Foxy has run 1,572 miles over 251 hours 37 minutes and 38 seconds!

Kaz Hurrell

In 2016 Kaz Hurrell completed her 4th 10in10, the most 10in10s completed by a woman. Kaz completed 3 consecutive 10in10s from 2012 through to 2014. She returned in 2016 to complete her 4th 10in10 - passing 1,000 10in10 miles on her way to 1,048 miles in total.

Kaz completed all her 10in10s over 210 hours 41 minutes and 5 seconds!

Adam Holland

In 2009 Adam Holland came to Brathay to run his first Brathay 10in10. Aged 22, Adam was our youngest ever runner. By the end of May 2014 he had completed his 3rd 10in10 and recorded the three fastest times for the event! Adam would later have the 2nd podium spot taken away from him by Mike Sprot in 2017.

Adam's 2010 time secured him a Guinness World Record.

Sally Ford

In 2012 Sally Ford ran the Brathay 10in10 setting a new women's record:

Sally's 2012 time still stands and secured her a Guinness World Record. She also holds the record for the fastest individual marathon run by a woman as part of the Brathay 10in10 - 3:33:15.

2012 is the only year in which a female athlete has won the Brathay 10in10 outright!

Oldest runner

John Dawson

In 2007 John Dawson was one of the 'Magnificent Seven' who completed the first Brathay 10in10, establishing benchmark times and a model of support that provided the foundation of this event.

John returned 4 years later to complete his second 10in10...aged 73! He is still the oldest person to complete the Brathay 10in10.
