Day 1 - 12 May
Brathay 10in10 2023
A stunning day in the Lake District!.....but a bit warm for the 16 runners starting out on the 17th Brathay 10in10.
The team woke up to a clear, cool morning - with great views down the lake from Brathay Hall.
Day 1 is considered a warm-up for the many miles to come - but that didn't stop Paul Davies coming in under 3 1/2 hours to get things started (3.27.12).
Jon Drake finished 2nd in 3.37.31 to complete his first lap of the Windermere Marathon course. Tasmin Sharley was the first woman home in 3.58.22.
Malcolm Collins ran his 100th(!) timed, competitive Windermere Marathon today - making a start in his attempt to complete his 10th Brathay 10in10.
Everyone enjoyed the fantastic scenery and support around the course - particularly the cheering from Hawkshead Primary School children....thank you!
All the team are now refueling, recharging and looking forward to another lap of Windermere tomorrow….
