Day 2 - 15 May

Brathay 10in10 2021

The rain that was forecast didn't arrive today and it turned into another perfect day for running a lap of the stunning Windermere Marathon course. The day started with Charles Cowling, Brathay's Chair of Trustees and 10in10 finisher in 2014, thanking the runners for their support of the charity.

Steady away for all 14 runners with only two, Duncan Evans and Michelle Woodcock, improving on their Day 1 times.

Strong, consistent running again from Paul Mayson to win the race in 3:47:52. Claire Harrison and Malcolm Collins swapped their positions from Day 1 with Malc 2nd in 3:58:29 and Claire finishing 3rd in 4:02:46.

Runners, student sports therapists and support team have quickly settled into the world of the COVID restricted 10in10. Our Brathay bubble, social distancing and many other control measures are working well and keeping everyone safe.

Our quote of the day comes from Jeff Prestridge (2012 10in10 and regular Brathay supporter) "Davey Green - A mad dog of an Englishman. Remarkable. Tough as an over-baked Cornish pastie."

Now more food, more stretching and more rest….and then Day 3!
