Day 4 - 17 May
Brathay 10in10 2021
Another inspirational day of running on the stunning Windermere Marathon course today. Everyone home….but not dry! Rain showers were a feature of the day, with thunder at the south end of the lake adding to the challenge of running another 26.2 miles.
Paul Mayson was again first back in 3:53:37 making it four wins out of four. Malcolm Collins recorded his second 2nd place finishing in 3:59:05 and Claire Harrison was again 3rd in 3:59:19.
104.8 miles of running over 4 days is now starting to show. The fantastic support provided by Third Year students from University of Cumbria’s Sport Rehabilitation programme, supervised by Dr Katie Walker-Small, is the key to getting to the start line each day with the best chance of running another marathon. As well as their excellent sports rehab skills the students also provide an essential boost to everyone’s morale.
Day 5 beckons….
You can donate to support the huge effort all runners are making to support vulnerable children & young people here. Thank you :)
