Day 5 - 16 May

Brathay 10in10 2023

Perfect conditions for running another lap of Windermere today - cool, overcast, with a light shower in the middle of the day. Running this course for 10 consecutive days is a huge challenge, but when the weather's this good, with fantastic views, it helps :)

A huge achievement and strong running from everyone to reach the halfway point of this year’s Brathay 10in10.

Winning his fifth in a row Paul Davies came home in 3.39.32 - his second fastest so far. Jon Drake was again second, finishing in 3.42.57 and another great run from Alfie Thorpe to finish third in 3.53.29. Today's marathon was also Jon's second fastest, and Alfie's fastest so far.....and marathon PB!

The first five runners came home in under 4 hours, including first female, Tasmin Sharley, in 3.56.24.

It was a long day for Samantha Morris, coming home in 7.17.40 - but she's in good spirits and straight into recovery and preparation for another marathon tomorrow.

Tiredness is starting to affect all the runners….but Day 6 beckons….and it’s all about getting to the start line and then seeing what happens.
