Tasmin Sharley
Brathay 10in10 Athlete
Hi! My name is Tasmin, I have recently turned 30 and I live in my hometown of Bristol. I started running a few years ago and I have done a few marathons in that time, and for the year I turn 30 I wanted to take on a challenge which is going to push me to my limits, and raise money for a worthy cause.
I love visiting the Lake District and stayed at Brathay Hall a couple of years ago. It was then where I learned about the running and fundraising events organised by Brathay Trust....and of course stumbled upon the 10in10. Feeling inspired from reading about the achievements of those who have undertaken the 10in10 previously, I applied to take part in the 2023 challenge.
2022 was a great year of running for me, achieving PBs in all distances from 5k to the marathon and running further than I ever have before. This year I want to build on my achievements and take on an extreme challenge which is going to push me both physically and mentally. Each of the running events I have done previously have just been individual events, so running 10 marathons over 10 consecutive days is going to be a huge undertaking! I am a very determined and stubborn person which I will use as a strength to take me through each of the 10 marathons.
I work with children at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, and every day I see the impact charities have through improving the life chances and experiences of children and young people. I want to do my own bit to raise money for a charity which does exactly that, and Brathay Trust is the perfect fit.
