Required Kit
Waterproof jacket and trousers
These must be fully waterproof and have taped or welded seams (wind/shower proof not acceptable). The jacket must have a hood.
Spare base layer
Runners must carry a spare long sleeve base layer top and bottoms. These should be sealed in a bag and only used in emergency situations.
Hat & gloves
Runners must carry a hat and a pair of gloves. You are welcome to use a Buff as a hat.
First aid kit
As a minimum, a first aid kit must include plasters, tape, dressing and a bandage.
We'd suggest one of these.
Foil bag or survival bag
Runners must carry either a foil bag (not blanket) or a survival bag.
Something along these lines is ideal.
Emergency food
Runners must carry a minimum of 2 emergency food items (e.g. 1 bar and 1 gel). These should be sealed in a bag and only used in emergency situations.
Head torch
Runners must carry a head torch and spare batteries.
Whistle
Some bags now include a whistle, if not a simple emergency whistle is required.
something like this will do.
Bottles or a bladder
You must be able to carry a minimum of 1 litre of water with you.
Cup
If you're likely to want a hot drink at checkpoints, bring a cup you can drink one out of... no cup, no hot drink.
These work well.
Running pack
A running backpack or vest capable of carrying the above items.
Trail Running shoes
A pair of quality off road running shoes. (not road shoes)
Mobile Phone
All participants must carry a mobile phone. When running please ensure that your phone has sufficient battery to remain on for the duration of the event. If you change phone number,
please provide us with your new mobile number here.
Recommended Kit (if hot weather)
Cap
In the event of hot weather runners must carry a cap.
Sun cream
In the event of hot weather runners must carry sun cream.
Recommended Kit (if bad weather)
Spare warm layer
In the event of bad weather runners must carry a fleece or insulated long sleeved top.
Waterproof mitts/gloves
In the event of bad weather runners must carry waterproof mitts/gloves. These can be carried instead of any required mitts/gloves.
