Kit list

Anyone without required kit will be disqualified. If you're unsure about an item, speak to The Climbers Shop for great advice!

Required Kit

You must be able to carry a minimum of 1 litre of water with you.
If you're likely to want a hot drink at checkpoints, bring a cup you can drink one out of... no cup, no hot drink. These work well.
Runners must carry a minimum of 2 emergency food items (e.g. 1 bar and 1 gel).
As a minimum, a first aid kit must include plasters, tape, dressing and a bandage. We'd suggest one of these.
Runners must carry either a foil blanket or a survival bag. Something along these lines is ideal.
Runners must carry a hat and a pair of gloves. You are welcome to use a Buff as a hat.
Runners must carry a head torch.
All participants must carry a mobile phone. When running please ensure that your phone has sufficient battery to remain on for the duration of the event. If you change phone number, please provide us with your new mobile number here.
3/4’s are fine as long as a runner is wearing long socks or calf guards.
Waterproof jackets must have taped or welded seams and a hood.
Waterproof trousers must have taped or welded seams.
Runners must carry a spare long sleeved base layer.
Some bags now include a whistle, if yours doesn't and you don't have one, something like this will do.

Required Kit (if hot weather)

In the event of hot weather runners must carry a cap.
In the event of hot weather runners must carry sun cream.

Required Kit (if bad weather)

In the event of bad weather runners must carry a fleece or insulated long sleeved top.
In the event of bad weather runners must carry waterproof mitts/gloves. These can be carried instead of any required gloves.

Recommended Kit

If you're likely to want any hot food at a checkpoint, bring something to eat it with. Something like this will do.
