Brathay 5k

Before the event

Entries will close at 10:00am on Wednesday 18 May 2022, or when entries reach the maximum number of 300, whichever comes first.
You will receive email confirmation of your entry and further emails with useful information and training tips. Please also check this website regularly for further information.
You will receive your race pack and car parking pass on the Wednesday before the event. You will need to collect your timing chip and race number when you register at Brathay Hall before the race. You are encouraged to register your entry on Saturday 21st May if at all possible to avoid congestion on the Sunday morning.
As stated in our Terms and Conditions and as per UK AA rules and regulations, the right to participate in the event is highly individual and as such entries and race numbers are non-transferable.
If participants wish to cancel their entry they need to contact the Brathay Running team. We are unable to offer refunds or deferrals in case of cancellation. Please contact the Brathay Running team here.

During the event

Car parking is available at the event centre at £5 per car for runners, spectators and visitors. If you have pre-booked a car parking pass it will have been emailed to you before the event. This will need to be presented to the marshals on the day. All car parking is allocated to car parking passes.
You will be unable to leave the car park until around 12pm, after the 5K has finished. Brathay visitors and spectators may prefer to park in Ambleside and enjoy the 10 minute walk to the Brathay Estate. You will not be able to follow the runners as the road will be closed behind them.
No - drop off will not be possible due to not being able to leave site until 12pm.
Changing facilities and bag storage will be available in the Fairfield and Bowfell rooms. The bag storage area will be locked at the start of the race until the arrival of the first runners.
Runners will assemble on the front lawn of Brathay Hall for final information/instructions and the race will start at 10.45am.

Unfortunately you can't run with a dog. Well behaved dogs are allowed on site provided they are kept on a lead and any mess is cleared up.

After the event

No shower facilities are available onsite.
Yes, at 11:50 on the main lawn. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to 1st & 2nd man and 1st & 2nd woman in the race. A full set of results will be available shortly after the race on the Brathay Challenges website and via post event newsletters and social media. All runners who complete the Brathay 5K will receive a medal.
