Golden Bond Runner

I’m a chef and self-confessed foodie now working in food wholesale, I’m honoured to have been chosen to run the 2020 London marathon for Brathay Trust as I run I will be remembering Matt Campbell, I watched him compete in master chef and later met him and chatted about what it was like to be involved in the competition, he was such a lovely guy taken from us too early.

I have been running for about 10 years before then I couldn’t run for a bus! Looking back, I can’t believe where this journey has taken me. It all started with race for life 5k, raising money for family and friends I have lost to cancer.

In 2008 I cycled the coast to coast over 2 days fundraising this time for asthma

Then came the Great north run in 2010 for the 1st time running for Diabetes research, I remember finishing it and struggling to walk back to the car thinking how do people run twice that distance? More runs and other cycle challenges followed.

Then looking for the next challenge I got involved in Tri starting by competing in Kendal sprint Distance in 2013, little did I know what this would lead to.

A season of sprint and standard distance races followed. Then in 2015 I completed Iron Man triathlon in Cozumel followed by Barcelona in 2017 and Italy 2019.

I have also completed Liverpool and Manchester marathons in 2016 and 2019

I’m now proud to coach triathlon and lead for women on the run a ladies running group, I have now completed more 10k’s and 1/2 marathons to list. I can’t wait when someone asks if I have run London I can say “yes I have”.
