London Marathon Runner

Hi! I’m Petra, 24 years old and I’m from Windermere.

In 2022 I took on my first marathon and first running event - the ASICS Windermere Marathon. It’s safe to say I got a huge buzz from it and continued entering more running events from there.

I grew up watching my mum take part in running events and running became my form of therapy as a teenager and has continued to be my escape from day-to-day life.

I have worked for Brathay since October 2022 as a Project Worker, working with children and young people on both an individual and group basis. I have seen first-hand the impact that Brathay has on children and young people, giving them new experiences, supporting them through challenging times, and helping them to make positive contributions to their community. I am running London Marathon to help fund much needed programmes for the children and young people that Brathay supports.
