The Beautiful Marathon in a day
If you’re travelling from towns and cities in the North West, North East or West Yorkshire you can make it a day trip to the ASICS Windermere Marathon. If you’re time is limited to just one day (no better way to spend your Sunday than running a lap of England’s largest lake!), or you’d prefer not to incur the cost of accommodation, we've prepared the following travel times to help you plan your weekend.
Travel Information – by car
With the M6 being within easy reach of Brathay Hall it’s easier than you might think to drive here on event day. We’ve listed some travel times below to help you plan your journey and preparation for the marathon:

Travel information – by train
The nearest station to Brathay Hall is Windermere – only 5 miles and 15 minutes by taxi. Unfortunately the first train from Oxenholme (Kendal) connecting to Windermere on 21st May is 10.00am – really cutting it too fine for your pre-marathon bacon butty* and warm up!

Whichever route you take to Brathay make sure you leave enough time to recover after the marathon and enjoy the scenery, atmosphere and hospitality at Brathay Hall.
