London Marathon Runner
My name is David Smith and I’m from Chesterfield in Derbyshire.
My favourite race is the London Marathon. I love the crowd support and special atmosphere this race has, along with a route through the Capital’s best sights. And what better way to run it than supporting Brathay Trust.
I became aware of Brathay trust in 2022 when I took part in the Brathay 10 in 10 – running 10 marathons in 10 days. During those 10 days I saw firsthand the amazing work the Trust does, literally transforming the lives of young people. I found it very inspiring, which is why I am taking on the London Marathon again, so the important work done by Brathay can continue for many years to come.
I have been running for over 30 years and in that time have completed over 200 marathons and 100 half marathons. I like to have fun when I’m running so you will often see me in fancy dress. Scooby Doo is my favourite costume, the children love it, and that how I will run the London Marathon for the Brathay – to get as much publicity as possible for this fantastic charity.
