Jacob Mennell

London Marathon Runner

I discovered my love for running while training for my first marathon in 2024. What began as a personal challenge quickly grew into a real passion, as I found enjoyment in the discipline, progress, and sense of community that comes with the sport.

In 2024 I completed both the Manchester Marathon and the Richmond Marathon, which were big milestones in my running journey. I’ve continued to build on that since, completing the Newport Marathon in 2025 alongside other races such as the Bournemouth Half Marathon and the Leeds Abbey Dash later that year. I’ve also enjoyed taking on several trail races in the Lake District, which have been a brilliant way to combine running with some incredible scenery.

In 2026 I’m taking on an even bigger challenge by running two marathons in quick succession — first the Rome Marathon and then, just a month later, the London Marathon in support of the Brathay Trust. Being able to use something I love to help raise money for a charity doing important work for young people makes the challenge even more meaningful.
