Reflecting on an incredible week of support in memory of Matt Campbell

In the week since Matt Campbell died we’ve been astonished and overwhelmed by the response from people in the UK and all over the world.
It’s a testament to Matt – he was someone who inspired so many people and whose life really had an impact on others.
The #FinishforMatt and #MilesforMatt movement has drawn thousands of people together from around the world; both seasoned runners who regularly run long distances and those who find running a challenge and who are walking or just donating instead.
The stories have touched us so much – the people who hadn’t run for 30 years, those that ran to work in the rain, those that are injured and have broken their run into smaller stages, the children, the groups of friends getting together to celebrate the life of someone they never met, the runner who ran 3.7 miles for Matt and then another 3.7 for his family and those finishing the London Marathon route from Tower Bridge to the Mall. We cannot thank you individually but it means more than we can say.
The money raised in Matt’s name (now over £318,000) will help us work with so many more young people; those who want to turn their lives around or need support to fulfil their potential. We know we can make a difference to them and that among them will be those who go on to inspire others too.
Just like Matt inspired us.
Thank you.
