ARE THE LANGDALE MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON GOING AHEAD ON 24TH OCTOBER?

We have had many people asking, since the cancellation of the ASICS Windermere Marathon, are the Langdale Marathon and Half Marathon going ahead?
The answer is yes. We are planning a model that meets current government guidelines and Run Britain control measures for a safe, socially distant event for participants, staff and volunteers. The only reason we can see for the event being cancelled would be a local lockdown in South Lakeland.
The Langdale events are on a much smaller scale and in a more rural environment than the ASICS Windermere Marathon. We have secured the relevant permissions from landowners and are working with SIEntries to trial socially distant start times at this weekend’s Ambleside Trail 60 event.
Numbers are reduced to accommodate for race transfer requests and social distancing measures. We have now reached capacity for the Langdale Marathon but still have places available in the Half.
All transfer requests from ASICS Windermere Marathon cancellations will be honoured and participants will receive confirmation once this has been processed.
Final race details will be sent on Wednesday 21st October 2020. We still need everyone to work together to remember that there is a global pandemic happening and to follow any guidelines issued.
We look forward to seeing you there.
