ASICS WINDERMERE MARATHON & BRATHAY 5K – NEW DATE FOR 2020!

Following our communication yesterday, we’re pleased to announce a new date for this year’s ASICS Windermere Marathon and Brathay 5K. We hope you can join us on Sunday 1 November 2020 for what we hope will be an inspirational celebration of running….and health.

We’ve worked really hard with our supporters, volunteers and suppliers to ensure we deliver a memorable, high quality event, as you’ve come to expect from us. The marathon and 5K will again coincide with day 10 of the Brathay 10in10 – so you’ll be able to support and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of 18 runners completing 10 laps of Windermere in 10 days!

We know people choose our events because they are inspired to challenge themselves by running through the stunning Lake District scenery. Our charity now faces the biggest challenge in our 74 year history. The disruption Coronavirus has placed on Brathay and our ability to help young people is huge. If you are joining us to run on Sunday 1 November please, please consider fundraising to support our work. If every runner made a commitment to raise a small amount, maybe £50, this would make a massive difference to the future of our charity and the lives of future generations of children and young people.

Brathay’s mission is to improve the life chances of children, young people and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities. We work with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people, both in their home communities and on life changing residentials in the Lake District. As a result of the far-reaching effects of Coronavirus many more young people, some of whom are already living in chaotic circumstances, will need the support and services provided by Brathay.
