Spectators welcomed back for the 15th ASICS Windermere Marathon

After two years of restrictions imposed by Covid, we are thrilled to invite families, friends, and spectators to join and cheer on runners at the finish line. There will also be a return to the normal number of aid stations on route.
Food, drink and retail stalls will be making a return to the lawn and there will be additional activities throughout the day, such as the junior races and the Brathay 5K* so all the family can get involved.
Race director Scott Umpleby said: ‘We are really excited to welcome back spectators for our two races this year. It makes such a difference to have the lawn bustling with activity and watching runners being cheered on in their final moments of the race.
It’s a challenging and hilly course, but we have what I believe to be one of the best marathon finishes in the UK, overlooking Windermere. I would encourage runners to experience it for themselves!’
There’s still time to sign up to be part of the experience.
*The Brathay 5K must be booked in advance.
