In memory of Martin Campbell

Remembering a great friend

This year a key member of our team, who was involved with the Brathay 10in10 and ASICS Windermere Marathon since they started, is very much in our minds. Very sadly Martin died in summer 2016.

His first involvement with our running events was in 2008 as photographer for the ASICS Windermere Marathon. He quickly became an integral part of the support team, filming the Brathay 10in10 as a volunteer. The daily films Martin produced between 2009 and 2016 really captured the essence of this running challenge.

With his commitment and vision he shared the dreams, the highs and lows of ‘ordinary people doing extraordinary things’.

Martin played a huge part in developing the Brathay Running events, ultimately helping Brathay in its mission to inspire children and young people to make positive changes that will last a lifetime. He was such a uniquely inspirational and positive person who will live on in the memories of so many people. We have precious memories of the many laughs and great times shared with such a fantastic person. Martin's unique influence on Brathay Challenge events will be felt by us all for years to come.
