Taking part in an individual or team challenge event is a great opportunities to set yourself a personal goal, achieve something memorable and inspire other people.
Brathay challenge events also provide a great platform to support Brathay Trust's work to improve the life chances of thousands of vulnerable children and young people. We are here to help with advice and resources to support your appeal.
Firstly, establish a fundraising target that you think will be achievable depending on how much time you have leading up to your chosen event. Tell people what you're doing, what you hope to achieve and a little bit about the charity you're supporting. By sharing your story with family, friends and work colleagues you'll soon see donations coming in towards your target.
You can make it easy for people to support you by setting up an online fundraising page using JustGiving. Sharing your story and Brathay's mission on social media is a great way of promoting your appeal and reaching more supporters.
In addition to online fundraising you might also decide to hold additional events or initiatives for your supporters. These might include:
- Dress down days at work
- Cake sales (we find cake always goes down well)!
- Team events and activities for work colleagues and/or friends
- Car boot sales
- Forfeit coffee/alcohol/sweets/snacks for a week and donate the savings to your appeal
- Themed parties such as Bonfire Night, New Year, Easter Egg hunt or Mid-Summer Celebration
- Raffles and lotteries.
We will provide printed and online resources to support any fundraising activity you create.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your fundraising ideas. We'll share successful and creative ideas with other Brathay Challenge participants and teams.
